Although there is no limit on how many people can follow you, Instagram has set a limit to the number of people that you can follow to reduce spam. Once you’ve reached a Following amount of 7500, Instagram will send an error that “You can’t follow any more people”.
If you are running your Gramista Follower/Unfollower script without Smart Mode, it will keep on following people until it has calculated that it already reached the maximum follow limit including your original Following count. When this happens, the only way your account can start following again is to let the bot unfollow to give room for new people to be followed. So before you enable the Follower/Unfollower feature without Smart Mode and indulge in this utility, please keep in mind that you simply can’t follow everyone, no matter how much you want to.
Please be guided as well that manually unfollowing the accounts that the bot followed is not advisable, as this does not get automatically tracked by the bot. This is why even if you have only a low Following number on your page, the bot still continues to unfollow simply because on its record, your account’s following is still maxed out.
With these things in mind, here are a few recommendations to resolve this issue:
- Give your account some time to unfollow other accounts. Once the bot's following count has been cleared out, it will automatically revert to following new accounts again.
- Enable Smart Mode on at all times as this helps to regulate the amount of people being followed and unfollowed by your account. To know more about Smart Mode and Smart Mode cycle, please visit the following links: What is Smart Mode? What is Cycle size of Smart Mode
- Be sure to avoid manually unfollowing accounts followed by the bot as they will eventually get unfollowed anyway during the unfollowing cycle. If you prefer not to use Smart Mode, you can allow the bot to begin Unfollowing anytime by going through the steps in this article: How Do I Change from Following to Unfollowing?
