Targeting with Hashtags, Usernames, Locations and Blacklists: How to target correctly
π¨βπ©βπ¦βπ¦ Learn how targeting works and how you should think so you'll find the right audience.
Targeting
Targeting helps you to guide Gramista towards your target audience. There are three effective ways that let you refine your activity and reach the right crowd: Hashtags, Usernames and Locations.
Hashtags
Gramista browses for content (images, videos etc.) to like that content and/or follow users that posted those images. Hashtags are great for interacting with lots of people as they have more content than locations or usernames. However, hashtags aren't specific enough, that's why we strongly advise you to combine them with Locations and Usernames.
Already confused? Here's a couple of related articles to guide you:
Locations
This works similarly to hashtags. Gramista searches your locations for media and users to interact with, which is a great way to focus on specific places, regions or venues. Even if your Instagram isn't focused on a particular location, don't be afraid to experiment and add plenty of locations because you'll find more personal accounts in locations that anywhere else.
Usernames
Usernames work a bit differently from the rest of the targeting options. Gramista searches followers of a given username to like their latest image and/or follow them. There are many use cases for usernames; the most obvious ones are your competition and accounts with followers that are most likely to be interested in your content.
Gender Targeting
You can make Gramista interact with primarily Male or Female accounts. This feature is very useful if your account, product or content is mainly focused on one gender. Note that gender targeting is not absolutely accurate; Gramista must guess the gender based on the name and other clues left in the bio. If an account does not have enough information to guess accurately enough, it's skipped.
Blacklists
Don't neglect usage of blacklistsβthese help you filter out unwanted content and accounts. Setting up your blacklists might not sound that exciting, but trust us when we say that they help a LOT more than you realize. Not only do blacklists prevent interactions with accounts that post and promote unwanted content, they fine-tune your targeting.
Hashtag Blacklist
Prevents interaction with pictures and videos tagged by one of the blacklisted hashtags.
Username Blacklist
Prevents any interaction with blacklisted accounts. Gramista won't like or follow these users.
